JVTC 2018 Homeward straight!

We are in the final days of the January Virtual Team Challenge and we have moved up to 26th place out of 690 teams. That puts us in the top 4% of worldwide teams. We are in the top 6% of virtual teams with 51+ members.

The top ten team-mates have been rowing up a storm and have clocked up some massive metres!

The rest of the team are working hard and have contributed a decent amount of metres to help us stay in the top 4% in the standings.

Keep up the great work over the next four days!

JVTC 2019 Halfway Heroes!

It's not all about ONLY congratulating the top ten team-mates at ETT. We also celebrate those members who have contributed metres no matter how few or how many!

Here are the team-mates who are helping us maintain our top 5% position in the rankings:

  • Julie is our top female this JVTC followed closely by Karen V!
  • Mike P, Evan, Rob and Diggy are re-igniting some historic battling for the lead position in our top 15 places
  • Ric, Karen, Les, Jim M, Glenn, Phil V, Jeff, Phil H, Mike B and Lance are all set to hit 100k by the end of the challenge if this pace keeps going strong

Keep working hard ETT'ers and share your stories on the blog or Facebook account!

January Virtual Team Challenge 2019

Hello Empty the Tank'ers!
It's two weeks into the January Virtual Team Challenge and we are steaming ahead in 27th place out of 666 worldwide teams. That puts us in the top 4% which is pretty darn good!
If you only compare us with virtual teams with 51 or more members we are in 16th out of 253 (top 6%).
We have got some old regulars back in the fold (Phil V, Karen V, Mark B) and some new faces lighting up the leaderboard (David R, James G, Zjev!).
Here are the top ten rowers in the team in the first fortnight of rowing:

Keep up the fantastic work team. In three days time, we will have reached the halfway point on the challenge. Buckle up we are in it for the long haul!

Happy 10th birthday to us!

I started the team with six team-mates in 2009. At the time there weren't any female team captains so I thought I should create my own group offering a friendly and inclusive team to join. Today, we now have over 260 team-mates with 70+ active members!

The name 'Empty the Tanks' came from an encouraging comment shouted by a cox during an indoor rowing competition in 2008 to one of our original team-mates Chris V! Chris achieved a PB for his 2k and some of that can be attributed to the encouragement and passion of the cox cheering him on!

I am looking forward to being captain of ETT for many more years of indoor rowing with such a fantastic bunch of team-mates. I would like to thank you all for the commitment and energy you all have for indoor rowing, fitness and fun.
