Friday is ladies night!

Come on ladies on Friday 30th November we need your help floating boat two in the Cross Team Challenge - its only a quick 12 minute blast on the rower!!

The December CTC is a short sharp and fast interval session of 10 x 1 minute rows with 1 minute rests chosen by the Forum Flyers.

The Challenge Series Round 4 is a straight forward 5,000 metres row.

Challenge Series Round 3

How are people getting on with the Challenge Series Round 3?

I did the 6344 metres today and managed to smash my previous time by over 2 minutes - which means that either last year I didn't put much effort in or that my training for the EIRC has helped me shave some time off!? I think it may be a combination of the two.

2011 6344m = 32:14.4 minutes
2012 6344m = 29:45.4 minutes

I am temporarily ranked in the number two slot with comparable female lightweights but in a few more days I'm sure I will slip down the rankings!

Anybody got any PB's to share with the rest of the team?

7 million metres

I reached seven million lifetime metres today.
I started logging metres regularly in 2009 so that roughly equates to 2,300,000 metres each year. Not bad for a lightweight!

Other team mate achievements this season:

  • Dan Mc and Beat are at the top of the team's affiliation standings with 1,800,00 and 1,400,00 metres respectively.
  • Rob D and Andy S have recently passed the one million metres
  • Hector and Phil V are due to reach one million metres in the next week or so
  • Mark B and Bouke have rowed over 800k
  • Bill, Todor, Ric, Teodora and Norman have rowed over 700k
  • Caroline and Esa have recently achieved 500k

Three boats in the Nov CTC and new team mate!

This month's 12 minute challenge has had great participation from ETT with three boats in this months Cross Team Challenge, but only one is floated in the points rankings.

We have been joined by a new team mate Ed S, 40 from the UK who is a lightweight rower. Welcome to the team Ed!

Come on girls and heavyweights we need your help to get boats two and three into the rankings!

The Big Four O

Happy Birthday to me!
I have moved into a new age ranking category today and will now be rowing with the 40 - 50 year olds! I have had a fun day so far and I'm going to squeeze in some intervals before my friends come round for a meal.

CTC update

We have been participating in the monthly Cross Team Challenges since May 2009. Here is the latest update about our participation in the events.

The last time we had the opportunity to choose the session was in August 2011 so it looks like we should be next in line in a month or two. Get your thinking caps on about what session we should do. It seems the shorter rows or simple interval sessions are the most popular for getting as much participation as possible.

Two ergers needed for Nov CTC

We have shot up the Cross Team Challenge rankings because of Mark and Ric's contribution to the November challenge.
To float the second boat in the rankings we just need to encourage another heavyweight and a female rower to take part.

One Heavyweight needed for Nov CTC

It looks like tomorrow we may get Boat One into the points rankings for the November Cross team Challenge because new team mate Norman has set up his profile on the CTC site and is set to enter metres tomorrow.

Regular CTC'ers Joe S and Edward J have both entered metres for the 12 minutes session today, here are the results:

It's a chilly Bonfire Night!

If you are in the UK it has been reported to be the coldest Bonfire Night (or Guy Fawkes Night) in 14 years!

I hope you managed to stay cosy by warming your hands by a bonfire or you are snuggled up on the sofa. The third option is to do the November Cross Team Challenge and get hot and sweaty with a 12 minute blast on the rowing machine.
