Summer Solstice Row

Well done to the following team mates who celebrated the longest day of the year on the 20th June by rowing over 21k on the C2. A few mad people rowed an extra 97 metres to qualify for the half marathon ranking piece.
Nice work people!!

Boat one floated in June CTC

Yahoo, Mark and Ric have helped get boat one floated in the rankings for the June Cross Team Challenge. Excellent times from all participants in this month's CTC.

The challenge this month is to commemorate the Titanic by rowing the depth of the shipwreck which is 3,800 metres below sea level.

Rowlympics Challenge

For the first time in ETT history this challenge will be pitting team mates against each other because we have such a diverse range of members from different countries - I have copied the following information from the C2 website:
Represent in the Rowlympics and PaRowlympics!
The Concept2 Rowlympics coincides with the Olympic Games, starting with the Opening Ceremonies on July 27, 2012 and continuing for 17 days until the Closing Ceremonies on August 12, 2012. This special rowing challenge (both indoor and on water meters count) celebrates the spirit and competition of the Games: represent your country by earning virtual medals (gold, silver, bronze) and certificates for the number of hours rowed. Hour totals are cumulative and do not need to be completed in one sitting.
For our adaptive rowers, the PaRowlympics will run for 12 days from August 29 through September 9, 2012.
Certificates will be awarded for the following hours of rowing during the length of the challenge, so make sure you log all your meters in yourOnline Logbook:

15 hours7 hours

10 hours5 hours

5 hours3 hours

C2 will be tracking the number of virtual medals earned by each nation, so rally your fellow countrymen!
Concept2 will provide suggested workouts and commentary to help keep you motivated. Set up your indoor rower near your television to follow your favorite teams at Eton's Dorney Lake! Final races and victory ceremonies will begin August 1, 2012.

June CTC

Four team mates have rowed the June Cross Team Challenge of 3800 metres. We just need a lightweight rower to float boat one into the rankings.

Because this challenge can be completed under 20 minutes we should all be able to give this a few attempts to move up the rankings.

I am blogging after a fabulous day biking around Lake Annecy in France. Chris and I organised a last minute holiday to have some fun on the bikes. On the biggest climb of the day 840 metres, The Col de Marais Chris let me take the victory at the summit despite me hogging his wheel pretty much all the way to the top. Read more about our French holiday here: http://carolinesmillionmetres4ms.blogspot.co.uk/

Back to the business of indoor rowing, the challenges for this month are:

  • June Cross Team Challenge - 3800 metres
  • June / July Challenge Series Bonus Round - Henley Royal Regatta distance, 2112 metres
  • Summer Solstice Challenge - 21000 metres on 21st June. Add 97 metres for a half marathon distance
Joe D has already rowed the June CTC he needs more ETT team mates to join him!
