WRC week 5, 15th April, 34th position - ? metres

I can not believe it's the last day of the challenge and we've slipped down to 34th position. I stepped up my game yesterday and put 10k on and I'm aiming to do that today too. Keep up the tempo for the final stretch - all metres count - so even if you can squeeze in a sneaky 2k before the deadline, go for it! Deadline for entering meters: 11:59:59 p.m. (ET) Saturday, April 18, 2009.

Tuesday, 14 April 2009

It's the penultimate day of the competition! One more day of pulling to go!! Still in 33rd position at the moment. Think big team mates and let's aim for 32nd position.

Monday, 13 April 2009

We have dropped down to 33rd position today - but we should be able to beat the next team West Side YMCA tomorrow, they are only 10k above us. Phil has put an excellent row in today - he is now on 165k! Gordon is on 154k and Chris still tops us all with 280k - he is on target to get to 300k by Wednesday. Joe has really pushed the boat out in this challenge and is currently on 249k, with Tim close behind with 239k. Yvon has worked hard and is on 229k and Karen is slogging away with 165k. We have only got 2 days of rowing left team - keep up the good work! We can take those YMCA guys!!!

Happy Easter everybody -we have reached 2 million metres today. I think we must have extra energy because of all the Easter eggs we have eaten.
We have just rowed past Rio Negro on the Amazon river. We are definitely getting into wild waters now - Thank you Gordon (and Alasdair) for the fantastic navigation skills.

Wednesday, 8 April 2009

WRC week 4, 8th April, 32nd position - 1,796,267 metres

Oopps sorry Karen - I mis-calculated the amount of metres you'd get to by the end of the competition, a more realistic target would be 170k! Chris and I rowed in London today, so metres were added manually - you'll have to trust us on the metres.

Tuesday, 7 April 2009

WRC week 4, 7th April, 31st position - 1,734,142 metres

Tim has reached 200k today. Karen has been working hard over the past month and is on track to reach 200k by the end of the competition. Yvon and Joe are in the high 180 - 190k's. Gordon is still helping us navigate our way into unknown Amazonian waters - we need to watch out for the crocodiles!

All team members are doing an excellent job so far this week - particularly PHIL who has been slogging away extra metres to make up for his holiday earlier in the competition. Caroline qualified for the One Million Metres club today - Wahooo!
Keep up the good work team, only 9 days to go.
